
The Metro of Mexico City will have a new director to replace Guillermo Calderón, confirmed the Government of CDMX. Calderón will continue as an advisor in Mobility and will complete the work on Line 1, as detailed by the capital authorities. Adrián Rubalcava Suárez, a lawyer and administrator, has been appointed to the position and is described as a person with leadership ability and commitment to the city and its inhabitants.
The resignation of Guillermo Calderón Aguilera as general director of the Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro was accepted by the Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada. Calderón, recognized for his dedication as a public servant, led the renovation and modernization project of the Metro promoted by the former head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum. In his place, Adrián Rubalcava Suárez will assume the direction to continue the process of modernization and renovation of the Metro, an important pillar in the mobility of the capital.
In an official statement, it was noted: "The Metro is fundamental and strategic for the mobility of our great city; we will continue working to achieve a more efficient and safer service." The appointment of Rubalcava was confirmed by Sandra Cuevas, who mentioned that the new director expressed his commitment to the position.

Rubalcava, who holds a degree in Law from Anáhuac University, has a master's degree in Public Administration and has held various positions in the public administration of Mexico City. He was a delegational chief and mayor of Cuajimalpa de Morelos for two terms, in addition to serving as a local deputy. Throughout his political career, he has shown affinity with different parties, resigning from the PRI in 2023 and supporting the administration of Claudia Sheinbaum.
